  12.   WinBag is a toolbag of utilities for Windows that lets you do some of
  13.   the things you do at DOS, without going to the dreaded File Manager
  14.   and without leaving the Windows environment. The initial release of
  15.   WinBag had three tools, a disk formater, and two handy Dir's for
  16.   floppy drives A and B. Version 2 added a mini file manager, WBFileMan.
  17.  
  18.   WinBag is distributed as Shareware. The registration fee is $10.
  19.   Registered users will receive free upgrades and new tools as they are
  20.   developed. Registered users will also receive Windows style Help files
  21.   for on-line Help.

  23.  WBFormat:
  24.   WBFormat is used to format diskettes in foreground or background. When
  25.   first run, defaults will be set up for drives, format, and DOS
  26.   version. Go to Setup and change the defaults to match your system. Be
  27.   sure that the Setup DOS agrees with your DOS version. Now you can
  28.   format disks without going to DOS and without having to remember what
  29.   switch does what. Also, WBFormat gives you the ability to format disks
  30.   according to the format most frequently used. For example, if drive a:
  31.   is a high density drive, but low density disks are used most often,
  32.   set the default for for drive a: to low density. Now low density disks
  33.   can be formatted without changing settings and without the need to
  34.   remember any switches. Just be sure that the DOS format command is in
  35.   a directory that is in the path. WinBag takes care of the rest by
  36.   supplying a .pif file that runs format in a window and in background
  37.   if desired. WBFormat supports MS-DOS versions 3, 4, and 5.

  40.  WBFileMan:
  41.   WinBags File Manager gives you a tool for day-to-day file management.
  42.   Also, WBFileMan gives you a powerful View/Edit command as well as easy
  43.   Zip/UNZip capability.

  45.   Options:
  46.  
  47.     Source/Destination - Select in one of two ways. Click Source or
  48.     Destination button to get a directory box. Double click the desired
  49.     directory, then click OK. Or, click the Source or Destination box,
  50.     make desired changes, then click OK or press Enter.
  51.  
  52.     Copy - Files may be copied to the destination directory or to a different
  53.     name. When copying a file to a different name in the same directory, be
  54.     sure the Source and Destination are the same.
  55.  
  56.     Move - When moveing files on the same drive, the data is not moved,
  57.     only the directory entries are changed. When moveing files to a
  58.     different drive, a safe move is done by checking to see if the file
  59.     arrived on the destination drive before it is deleted from the source.

  61.     Rename - Rename a file in the source directory. Click the file to
  62.     rename, then click the Rename option. Enter the new name and click
  63.     OK.

  65.     Delete - Delete files in the source directory. Click the files(s) to
  66.     delete, click the Delete option, than OK to start the delete function.

  68.   Commands:
  69.  
  70.     Setup - Setup is used to match file extensions with the corresponding
  71.     Viewer/Editor. Example, all files with the extension of .XLS will be
  72.     input to Excel with the following entry;
  73.  
  74.        .XLS,c:\excel\excel.exe
  75.  
  76.     Files that do not match the list of extensions will be input to the
  77.     default editor. (Notepad is used as the default initialy).
  78.  
  79.     Note: The drive and path for Notepad.exe is C:\WINDOWS\. If this is not
  80.     correct for your system, go to Setup and enter the correct path.
  81.  
  82.     To add a new entry to the extension list, either type the editor name
  83.     with extension (eg. write.exe), drive and path, and extension, or click
  84.     Browse. This will bring up a Drive/Directory box. Double clicking a
  85.     directory will display all .exe and .pif files. Click the desired PIF
  86.     or executable, fill in the corresponding extension (with or without the
  87.     period) then click OK.

  89.     To make changes to an existing entry, click the entry to change, make
  90.     changes in the change boxes, then click OK to save changes.
  91.  
  92.     To delete an entry, click the entry to delete. A Delete button will 
  93.     appear. Click the Delete button and the entry will be removed.

  95.     View/Edit - Select the file to view/edit then click the View/Edit button.
  96.     This will cause a search for a match between the selected file and the
  97.     extension list. If a match is made the corresponding viewer/editor will
  98.     receive the selected file and will execute. If no match is made, the
  99.     default editor will be envoked. View/Edit can also be used to view icons.
  100.     Double click the icon name, or highlite several names, then click the
  101.     View/Edit button to view each icon. Note: there is no entry required in
  102.     Setup for viewing icons, it is built into WBFileMan.

  104.     ZIP - Select the files to be Zipped and click the Zip button. Enter the
  105.     zip file name and click OK. PKZIP will be envoked and the resaulting
  106.     zip file will reside in the source directory.

  108.     UnZip - Select a zip file from the sourec directory and click UnZip.
  109.     If the destination directory is the same as the source, the files will
  110.     be unzipped into the source. If the destination is another directory,
  111.     the files will be unzipped into the destination.

  113.     Note: PKZIP.EXE and PKUNZIP.EXE must be in a directory that is in the
  114.     path in order for the ZIP and Unzip functions to work.

  117.  DirA:/DirB:
  118.   The two Dir utilities are tools that do the simple task of a dir on
  119.   drive a: or b:, but, they do it without the need to exit to DOS and
  120.   they can be minimized and brought back to life at any time.

  133.  NOTE TO EGA USERS:
  134.   WinBag tools are optimized for VGA systems. EGA users will notice some
  135.   iregularities in alignment and shadowing. To receive a copy of WinBag
  136.   tools that are optimized for EGA, send the registeration form with EGA
  137.   checked and $10. fee.
